New Delhi: Confirming that news channels have broadcast the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign more widely than their opponents’ in this election season, a study of airtime between April 2 and 28 shows that the top 11 Hindi channel gave more than 850 hours of airtime to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.Ī report published in Dainik Bhaskar quoting data collected by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) says, within this nearly one-month period, while Modi was given a total of 722 hours by these channels, Shah could get 123 hours of airtime.
